11/11/2022 0 Comments Vigilante 8I also saw carmaggedon for the psx, but I didn't pick it up because I feared it'd be as bad as carmaggedon 64, which is one of the worse games on the system. I was just curious, to those who have played the two series, are they in the same level of quality? Do you prefer one or the other? In May 1998 Luxoflux and Activision teamed up to create a major competitor to the Twisted Metal games Vigilante 8. Twisted metal as a series is amazing, even if I haven't played the psx originals in years. I will always love sweet tooth, but this game might be even better than the twisted metal I remember, certainly easier to get into, and not as frustrating. I can't speak for the first Vigilante 8 game, but from the hour and a half I've put into this game, I greatly enjoy it. Seeing as the only twisted metal game I still retain is black, for the playstation 2, and I was feeling nostalgic, and seeing as the publisher was Activision, whose track record was not too shabby on the playstation (nowadays however -), I picked it up. I had never heard of the series, but just by looking at the pictures in the back, I could see the similarities to twisted metal. Players can choose from eight characters with different agendas, and select vehicles ranging from classic 1970s muscle cars to a school bus, each stacked high with various kinds of weapons. Today I was at the pawn store and saw Vigilante 8 - 2nd offense for two euros. Vigilante 8 is a vehicular combat game similar to Twisted Metal in concept.
